Poultry In Motion

Bill spent two years on the staff of the San Jose Mercury News while working on his bachelor’s degree in Journalism & Mass Communications at San Jose State University. One day with Thomas Dolby’s song, “Poetry In Motion” running through his head he sketched this little plucked chicken on scrap paper – labeling it “Poultry In Motion.”

Returning from a coffee break he found the picture missing from his desk. By lunch it had been photocopied all over the newspaper office.

An instructor at the university insisted that Bill pen this character on a regular basis. It soon became a campus favorite and Bill became know as “the master of fowl puns”
